The BBC News Website today published details of an Ofgem report warning that energy prices may increase by 60% before the end of 2016. This would be mainly due to fears that the gas market would remain volatile and that power stations would be nearing the end of their use. The same report also confirmed that the average household bill for gas had increased by 120% since 2001 and that the average household electricity bill had increased by 48% in the same period.
